What did I learn from helping poor family?

In my school, there is a group call Hunger Coalition. Basically, students sign up committing that they would give up having dinner in the school cafeteria every wednesday evening to sponsor the group to make food for poor family. The money go to school cafeteria kitchen for food supplies. included sandwiches, bag, chip, bottle of drink, apple, and browny. The main job of the group is to get food ready, making, wrapping and bagging, which is on Friday, and delivering on Saturday.

  • Men generally less involve charity work.
  • Some people rather to use their money to buy drug, cigarette and drink but not their quality of living. (But, we will continue deliver food for them because we hope God will change this people)
  • I found myself like children, not really know it before.
  • There was an old lady we visit, she always want people talk and sing. I am sucks at both. I hate the awkwardness, but can't help about it.
  • OMG... Some eldest need helps to clean their house, some of the house smell like urine everywhere.
  • Men and women mentality is different: men mostly want the fastest way and find the most efficiency way to get the whole thing done (not because we want to leave) and women just like enjoy their time there and chitchat with people at the same time doing their charity work.
